In 2010, French entrepreneur Patrice Pichet acquired Château les Carmes Haut-Brion with the aim of turning it into a real jewel in the heart of Bordeaux.
The estate was revitalised and, among other things, more emphasis was placed on environmental protection and water management.
In 2014, the famous designer Philippe Starck and the architect Luc Arsène-Henry were commissioned to build a new, forward-looking and contemporary wine estate.
The 7.6-hectare vineyard has a unique profile for the left bank of Bordeaux, as it is mainly planted with Cabernet Franc. During vinification, the estate relies partly on whole bunch fermentation, while the grapes are vinified using the "infusion" method.
