The legend from the Napa Valley, which was launched in the late 1970s by wine icons Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi, marvellously combines the elegant finesse of Bordeaux with the opulence and suppleness of a great Napa Cabernet. The 2018 shows lush notes of ripe black berries, tobacco and precious woods. The tannins are ripe and polished. The bouquet is reminiscent of dark chocolate and is characterised by 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, with a finish of violets and cedar wood.
