A lot has happened at Château Montrose in recent years. The new owners have invested heavily in cellar technology and the former director of Mouton Rothschild has been brought in. Montrose has always been a great wine that has trumped its great rival in St. Estèphe, Cos d'Estournel, time and time again. However, in some years it was also somewhat unapproachable and rustic. Now the 2ème Grand Cru Classé has a noble finesse and great elegance, which no longer distinguishes it from a 1er Grand Cru Classé ... except in price!

In the Saint-Estèphe appellation, on the banks of the Gironde, lies the Deuxième-Grand-Cru-Classé-Château Montrose. Wine was only cultivated here comparatively late, since 1815. Almost 200 years later, the entrepreneurs Martin and Olivier Bouygues acquired the vineyard and invested with the aim of preserving the historic Bordeaux heritage.
