Family winery Tement Sulz Morillon 2020
The Morillon (Chardonnay) comes from the shell limestone, limestone marl and clay soils of the Zieregg, Sulz, Wielitsch and Ottenberg vineyards, where the vines are 15 to 55 years old. After spontaneous fermentation, the wine was matured for 18 to 24 months in large wooden barrels on the fine lees. It was then bottled unfiltered. The wine, rated 93 points by Robert Parker, smells of crunchy apples with skin, pears, carambola and ripe lemons, a little smoke, lime and gooseberries. On the palate, it is fresh and juicy, lively in acidity and slightly buttery in texture. A very unique, impressive interpretation of this grape variety that can only be found in the Tements.
