50% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 15% Syrah and 5% Cinsault make up the cuvée for the 2023 vintage Châteauneuf-du-Pape from this traditional winery in the heart of Gigondas. In the case of Saint Cosme, tradition means no less than 15 consecutive generations of winegrowing. This monumental Châteauneuf is aged in oak for 24 months to fully develop its overwhelming opulence. Because elegant restraint is not its thing. On the contrary: full-bodied aromas flood the palate with every sip. Dark cherry, rum-soaked fruit, wild herbs – all highly intense, yet focused at all times and supported by structuring acidity. A wine that seems tailor-made to demonstrate why Robert Parker was such a great friend of the region.
